Blog 15 Character Backstories
Stephenie Meyer gave us some details behind the characters of Twilight. However, I don't think enough information was given about them. I realize that the books and everything are supposed to revolve around Bella and Edward, but more details and such about the supporting characters would have been a great addition to the books for the fans of Emmett, Rosalie, Alice, Jasper, and any other characters. Just saying.
Blog 14 To be Famous or Not to be Famous
We all know how famous all the actors from the Twilight Saga are. But, have you ever stopped to think if it would be that way if they hadn't done the movies? Yes, all of them had played a few other roles before taking on their roles in Twilight. However, they honestly weren't that well known before then. Nevertheless, who is to say that they never would have gotten as extremely famous as they did in the Twilight Saga movies?
Blog 13 Twilight Series (Books and Movies)
First off, I have to say that I did enjoy the Twilight series books when they came out. Plus, I was excited about the movies coming out too. When I went to see Twilight, I was definitely disappointed. Everything about the movie could of been way better. I think all the movies, so far, could of followed the books a lot closer than they did. Plus, most of the acting was just awful. *Cough, cough* Kristen Stewart.
Blog 12 Jacob and the Wolves
Jacob Black can be very pessimistic. Especially when it comes to Bella and Edward. He seems to see the worst in everything, not the best. That probably has to do with the wolf in him, because, you know, he's a werewolf. And we all thought he was the normal human friend of Bella. Well, he's the most normal anyway. Personally, he's my favorite. He has a funny sense of humor and can make jokes that would hurt other peoples feelings, but to people who know him realize they're just jokes. Kind of reminds me a few friends of mine.

Blog 11 Edward and vampires
Edward Cullen. The name alone makes girls swoon everywhere. I don't quite understand it, but to each his, or her, own, I guess. Edward is supposed to be this perfect, smart, and dreamy guy. Only he's a vampire. Great. What I don't understand is the fact that he sparkles in the sunlight instead of bursting into flame and turning into ash like all the other vampires do. I guess it just makes it that much harder for vampires to die in Forks, Washington. They have to be shredded to pieces and burned before they're fully dead. Weird right? Whatever happened to good old fashioned stake in the heart and holy water? Oh well.
Blog 10 Bella
Isabella Swan is a disgrace to the female population. Throughout the Twilight series, she's been absolutely useless, helpless, and in need of protection by both the vampires and werewolves. The only parts that she seems even remotely independent and strong is when she's pregnant with Renesmee and after she's turned into a vampire. Even then, she still needs help while she's pregnant, protecting her ferom herself, and protecting Renesmee. It's a wonder Bella hadn't ended up dead before this point due to all her "accidents." Of course, this is abook written by a woman who wanted a happy ending, I suppose.

Blog 9 Van Helsing
Van Helsing is a doctor/vampire and monster hunter. However, nobody knows about the vampire and monster part until later in Dracula when a character, Lucy, turns into a vampire. Van Helsing comes into the picture after Dr. Seward asks for his help with Lucy. At the time, nobody knew what was wrong with her. Van Helsing was Dr. Seward's mentor way back when. He knows exactly how to kill vampires and dispose of them. Go Van Helsing!
Blog 8 Renfield
Renfield is a very peculiar character in Bram Stoker's Dracula. He seems insane to many of the other characters in Dracula. Renfield keeps "pets" like insects and birds. Not that weird, right? Well, he likes to eat his pets. Especially flies. He had asked for a cat, but he was denied it after the doctors found out he ate his birds. Turns out, the reason for his craziness is because of Dracula. Dracula had fed on Renfield before and had been able to compel Renfield to do things for him.
Blog 7 Dracula
Bram Stoker's Dracula is definitely what I think a vampire should be. Well, he is with the scary factor, at least. Compared to the modern day vampire, Stoker's Dracula doesn't perfectly match up. He doesn't sparkle, sleeps in a coffin unlike our modern day vampires, and his looks aren't exactly desirable. Dracula was quite hairy and was very close to having a uni-brow, as well. He, also, had pointy ears. Dracula definitely isn't a "vegetarian" either.
Blog 6 Laura
Laura was a victem of Carmilla from the novel Carmilla. Well, I guess you could say she was a partial victem. Laura didn't die like the other girls who were visited by Carmilla. A friend of Laura's family helped them figure out what and who she was before it could go that far. Their friend understood what was going on with Laura because it happened to his own daughter who, unfortunately, passed due to the interactions with Carmilla.
Blog 5 Carmilla
Carmilla only preyed on young girls, because they made her young. She would go to them nightly until they became so weak and ill they died. Carmilla would then move on to a new victem. Throughout the centuries, she would change her name. However, the names she chose had to be variations that contained the same letters that were already in her name. It's a vampire thing, I suppose. The modern vampires, though, could care less now. If they change their names, they will. It doesn't matter if it's a variation or something completely different. Or, they won't change it at all.

Blog #4
So this week we've been continueing to explain our writing processes. How have our writing styles now differed or compared to how we write now? Honestly, nothing has changes for me. I mean, my writing process isn't one I would want anyone to strive for believe me. But, it does work for me. However, it may not always work. You know, waiting until the last minute and all. In a weird way, it kind of motivates me when I wait because I know I'll get it done. Even if I don't get as much sleep as I'm used to. So, waiting does come with a price. I suppose I need to work on that. In fact, I do need to work on that. It's like joining a support group. Hello. My name is Alicia, and I'm a procrastinator. Ha!
Blog #3
Okay. So, we've been talking about writing papers and how to start them and such. Well, I do try to put the topic sentence somewhere in the introduction, otherwise I just end up messing myself up. I have to have some structure in what I call "my chaos." I've never had a paper where I didn't have the topic sentence in my first paragraph. That's where I have to begin my whole process or else, like I said, everything gets all screwed up.

Blog #2
So, I usually just write whatever comes to me when working on a paper and then rewrite it.
I like to think of myself as somewhat of an expert at procrastination. I find that I tend to work better when it's closer to a deadline than doing it at the very beginning. It's not a good thing I assure you, and it is something that I definitely need to work on.

Well, when I started writing my first paper for my Comp I class last semester, I felt like I was prepared enough from high school. As you get into your second and third papers and so on, you learn more as you go.
As I'm updating a status, I don't really think about anyone else as I'm writing it. It's just basically how I'm feeling.
